Palo Cedro Riders is a Family Friendly Horse Club.
Located in Millville CA., Palo Cedro Riders was established in October 1964. Twelve charter members met and formed what is now the Palo Cedro Riders. It was their purpose and goal to form a family friendly horse club to promote an intrest in horses and horsemanship, to manage and conduct entertainment and recreation, sociability and friendship among its members.
With diligent work from all members, the arena was built in 1965 and in 1967 a small clubhouse was added. Since that time, bleachers, a snack bar, sand in the arena, better fencing, leveling of the parking area, and an outside trail course were added to the grounds. In 1974, we financed the hook-up to Bella Vista Water District and bought sprinkler pipe for an arena watering system.
Sadly, in the summer of 1995, the property that PCR had worked so hard on for 30 years was sold and we were asked to leave. In October 1995 we purchased 10 acres on Millville Plains Road and we begun to rebuild. Again, with the diligent work from all of our members, we now have a larger arena, warm- up arena, parking area, an announcer’s stand, clubhouse and lights.
Each month we hold a club meeting at the arena, on the third (3) Thursday at 7:00PM. The following Saturday or Sunday, depending on the month, we hold a closed club play day for members to come out and ride. Each year we host various events for the public. Examples of past events are Poker Trail Rides, Horse Shows, Tack Swaps and Gymkhanas.
We do offer our arena for rent. There is an application on the website or please contact the club for further details.
